  • At Kind Pediatric Therapy, our goal is create a strength-based, child-led therapy approach using evidenced based research. We are continually improving clinical skills and knowledge through trainings that benefit our clients and their caregivers. We are committed to providing high-quality, customized services to our patients as well as equipping caregivers with communication strategies at home. We work to build relationships with families by striving to achieve your child’s goals together.

  • Research shows that the sooner children receive speech therapy, the better the results they have. If you have concerns regarding your child’s speech and language development, it is recommended to get an evaluation. This will help determine if your child needs speech therapy.

  • Our practice offers complementary speech and language screenings. These generally take about 15-30 minutes. During this time, they are screened based on speech and language developmental norms. This helps to determine if they require a full diagnostic evaluation and speech therapy services.

  • An evaluation can take about 30 minutes to 1.5 hours depending on the areas being assessed and allows the Speech Language Pathologist the opportunity to evaluate speech and language skills through standardized assessments, informal assessments, caregiver interviews, and collect history information. Recommendations to other professionals may be made if child is demonstrating difficulties in areas outside of the scope of practice for the SLP. A referral for these recommendations can be made by your child’s pediatrician. These include audiologist, ENT, occupational therapist, physical therapist, developmental pediatrician, orthodontist, etc.

  • Therapy frequency and duration are dependent on your child’s needs depending on the type and severity of deficits. This will be discussed in a consultation with SLP following the evaluation.

  • If teletherapy is recommended and/or preferred, Kind Pediatric Therapy uses HIPAA compliant Zoom for services. Speech therapist will send the Zoom link prior to the session via email.

  • Kind Pediatric Therapy is currently accepting Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas (BCBS TX). Other insurances are currently out-of-network. We are working on becoming providers for some insurance companies. We encourage you to call for specific insurance inquiries.

    If you are seeking reimbursement from your insurance company, Kind Pediatric Therapy will provide a Superbill upon your request. A superbill does not guarantee reimbursement from your insurance company. Please call your insurance company directly to determine out-of-network coverage for speech and language services and evaluations.
